Summertime is a 1955 romantic comedy filmed in Venice. Katharine Hepburn plays the role of a middle-aged secretary from Akron, Ohio, who finally makes it to Venice, for her long-awaited dream vacation where she will meet a fascinating Italian man.
The plot does not excel in originality or complexity, but the actors are good (Hepburn received a nomination for best actress) and the views of Venice gorgeous. A nice movie if you are in the mood for a romantic old-fashioned comedy.
