Naiades Fountain in Colors

Today the Fountain of Naiades located in Piazza della Repubblica in Rome had its water colored in green red and white, the colors of the Italian flag.

The action was done by Graziano Cecchini to protest against the project of privatization of public waters planned by the Italian Government and also against the budget cut of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities.

Fountain of Naiades Protest

This is not the first time that Rome's fountains are used to draw media attention. In 2007 the same man colored in red the Trevi Fountain. In both circumstances he used natural colors that did not damage the fountains.
