Cagliari and Nora

This full day private tour is made of two parts: visit of Cagliari in the morning and excursion to the archaeological site of Nora in the afternoon.

This tour can be organized for passangers of cruise ships arriving to the port of Cagliari with pick-up directly at the dock. At the end of the tour we ensure that you will be back to the port with plenty of time for boarding the ship.

The walking tour in the city center will make you discover Cagliari, a small city rich with many touristic attractions. The visit with your private guide will focus on the area of Castello, the most ancient and important neighborhood of the city, characterized by old buildings, narrow charming streets and beautiful views on the sea.

The itinerary includes:

  • The beautiful cathedral of Saint Mary built between the 12th and 13th Century
  • The tower of the Elephant, built in 1307 as part of the defensive system of the Castle area
  • The Roman Amphitheatre dating back to the Second Century A.D.
  • The Bastione San Remy and the Umberto I Terrace from where you have a stunning view of the sea and of all the city
  • The Archaeological Museum where is possible to discover the arts and history of the island: the unique and fascinating Nuragic civilization, the indigenous culture that flourished in Sardinia between 1700 B.C. and Second Century A.D. and the Roman and Phoenicians cultures

At the end of the morning you can stop for a lunch break in a typical trattoria where you can enjoy some excellent local food (like culurgiones or malloreddus). Then you will meet the driver that will take you to Pula (about 45 minutes drive).

Arriving in Pula you will go through the center of this charming little town and then you will visit:

  • The church of Sant’Efisio, built in the 11th Century A.D. and part of a very important religious celebration taking place every year at the beginning of May. The church is surrounded by palm trees and located right on a lovely sandy beach dominated by a 16th Century Spanish tower
  • The archaeological site of Nora. This town was originally built by the Phoenicians in the 9th Century B.C. and later inhabited by Carthagenians and Romans. The site is located right on the sea, in a truly fascinating setting where is possible to see interesting remains of thermae, houses, roads and a theatre

At the end of the tour the car will take you back to Cagliari. This tour can be done also with a pick-up to your hotel in the surroundings of Cagliari
