Half Day Tour - 4 hrs

 
  • This tour will start at the Basilica of Santa Maria della Vittoria where is conserved the Ecstasy of Santa Teresa, the Bernini’s masterpiece representing the element of Fire.
  • The next element to be discovered is the Earth, in Santa Maria del Popolo church, home of the Chigi Chapel designed by Raphael.
  • The visit will continue with the tomb of Raphael, located inside the Pantheon, the incredible building with the big hole on the roof.
  • Nearby you will find Piazza Navona with the Fountain of the Four Rivers by Bernini, that in the Path of Illumination described in the book represents the element of Water.
  • The following stop will be in Castel Sant'Angelo, surmounted by the Archangel Michael.
  • The tour will end in Piazza San Pietro, Saint Peter's Square, where you will see the Swiss Guards and where your guide will show you the bas-relief representing the Air element.
This tour is available in the AM only. The tour Duration is 4 hrs 
 

Full Day Tour - 7 hrs 

 

If you want to enjoy a more complete view of all the treasures desribed in the book, we suggest the Full Day tour. This tour includes all the sites of the Half Day tour, and additionally you will visit:

  • The Sistine Chapel where the “conclave”, the election of the new Pope, is conducted by all the cardinals. Here you will be astonished by the Michelangelo painted vault and by his famous Last Judgment fresco.
  • Saint Peter’s Basilica, the centre of Christianity and the largest church in the world: in its underground is conserved the tomb of Saint Peter.
  • You will also have time for a short lunch break
This tour is available from Tuesday to Saturday (on Sundays the Sistine chapel is closed).

These are mainly walking tours, but you may want to take a one taxi ride as not all places are close to each other.
As an alternative if you prefer to have a private transportation we will be happy to provide a limo with driver for all the length of the tour with pick up at your hotel.
